Our goal is to publish recipes you can trust. This page explains how our content is created, reviewed, and corrected.

How recipes are developed

Recipes are written by our team using established cooking techniques, standard ingredient ratios, and food safety guidance from sources such as the USDA. Each recipe includes specific quantities, temperatures, timing, and visual cues for doneness, so you’re never relying on time alone.

Testing status

Every recipe page shows whether the recipe has been cooked and checked in our kitchen. We never claim a recipe was tested unless it actually was. See our Recipe Testing and Methodology page for details.

How ingredients and measurements are checked

Before publishing, we review each recipe for complete ingredient lists, ingredients that are listed but not used (or used but not listed), sensible quantities and yields, realistic timing, correct oven temperatures, and safe internal temperatures for meat, poultry, and eggs.

Use of AI tools

We sometimes use AI writing tools to help draft and organize content. Our initial set of recipes was drafted with AI assistance. AI is a drafting aid, not a replacement for human editing or hands-on testing. Every recipe is reviewed by a person before publication, and no AI-generated content is published automatically.

Images

We only use photographs we’ve taken ourselves or that we have permission and a license to use. Where a real photo isn’t available yet, the page uses a clearly labeled placeholder rather than a photo of a different dish.

Sources and credit

When a recipe is adapted from or inspired by another cook’s work, we credit and link to the original source. We don’t copy other publishers' recipe text or photos.

Corrections

If you spot an error, please let us know. We review every report. When we make a meaningful change to a recipe, such as a corrected quantity, temperature, or time, we update the “Updated” date shown on the recipe.

Reader feedback

We welcome feedback on how recipes turned out. Feedback helps us decide which recipes to retest and where instructions need to be clearer. We don’t publish fabricated reviews, ratings, or testimonials.

Advertising and affiliate relationships

We don’t currently run advertising or use affiliate links. If that changes, sponsored or affiliate content will be clearly labeled, and advertisers will have no control over our editorial content. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
